Carol A. Cole
Biography
I have lived in a diverse range of towns in Washington State: Snoqualmie Falls, Sunnyside, Yakima, and for almost the last twenty years, in Walla Walla.
I have always been a photographer. Twelve years ago marked a milestone - I received my first 35 mm camera. This event allowed me to live my dream in a professional manner. Immediately I enrolled in Charly Bloomquist’s photography class at Walla Walla Community College to further develop my skills and knowledge.
Statement
My first love in photography is to capture Walla Walla’s historical buildings and the architecture.
I have donated many images to the Walla Walla Valley Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Walla Walla Foundation. The fact that Walla Walla has embraced its historical buildings has opened doors for me as a photographer, giving me a venue for the images I love to shoot.
I have discovered in traveling that not only am I drawn to capture the architectural images of each location, but also the many colorful images of day to day life.
Two years ago I traveled to New Orleans to shoot images for a gallery show titled, "Katrina a Year Later". The opportunity to be emotionally involved with an important event, to share my images, and then also have many conversations regarding the event has sprouted a seed which has always been inside of me.
My desire is to continue to be emotionally involved with the images of life I am fortunate enough to capture.
